Tray and Sleeve Pencil Box for Premium Stationery Packaging

A Tray and Sleeve Pencil Box is a smart choice when you want pencil packaging that looks neat, feels premium, and gives customers a better opening experience. Instead of a basic folding carton, this box uses a strong inner tray and an outer sleeve that slides smoothly over it. The result is clean presentation, easy product access, and a more branded look for retail shelves, school supplies, art sets, promotional kits, and stationery gift packs.

At Custom Boxes Lab, we design custom tray and sleeve pencil boxes around your product size, pencil count, branding style, and selling goal. Whether you need packaging for coloured pencils, graphite pencils, sketching pencils, school pencil sets, or premium artist collections, we help you create boxes that protect the product and make your brand look more valuable.

Custom Pencil Packaging That Sells the Product Better

Pencil packaging should do more than hold pencils in place. It should make the set look organised, trustworthy, and worth buying. Our sleeve pencil box packaging gives your product a clean drawer-style opening that customers instantly notice. The sleeve gives you enough space for your logo, product name, colour range, artwork, barcode, and brand message, while the tray keeps pencils arranged and secure inside.

This style is ideal for brands that want packaging with a refined look without making the design too complicated. You can keep it minimal, colourful, educational, artistic, luxury, or eco-friendly depending on your target market.

Made with Durable Materials and Custom Sizes

We manufacture custom pencil boxes in sizes that match your exact pencil length, quantity, and layout. This helps reduce loose movement, improves presentation, and gives the packaging a more professional finish. You can choose material options based on your budget, product weight, and brand positioning.

    • Cardboard for lightweight and cost-effective retail pencil packaging
    • Kraft stock for a natural and eco-conscious stationery look
    • Rigid board for luxury pencil gift sets and premium collections
    • Corrugated stock for stronger bulk or shipping-focused packaging
    • Custom inserts or dividers to keep pencils aligned inside the tray

Printing and Finishing Options for a Branded Look

Your Tray and Sleeve Pencil Box can be fully printed with brand colours, product artwork, instructions, icons, and promotional details. We offer clean printing and finishing options that help your packaging stand out while keeping the design easy to read.

    • Logo printing for stronger brand recognition
    • Matte, gloss, or soft-touch lamination for a smooth surface feel
    • Foil stamping for premium pencil sets
    • Embossing or debossing for a raised or pressed logo effect
    • Spot UV to highlight artwork, text, or brand details
    • Window cut-outs if you want customers to preview the pencils

When measuring a custom box, there are a few technical specifications that must be considered to ensure proper design, manufacturing, and fit for the product. Here are the major technical things to measure a custom box:

Inside Dimensions (Critical for Product Fit)

    • Length (L): The longest side of the box measured inside from one corner to the opposite corner.
    • Width (W): The shorter side of the box measured inside perpendicular to the length.
    • Depth/Height (D or H): Measured inside from the bottom to the top opening of the box. Always specify that dimensions are given in Length × Width × Height.

Outside Dimensions (Important for Shipping & Storage)

    • Measure the outer surfaces of the box including material thickness.
    • Outside measurements are used for pallet stacking, warehouse spacing, and shipping compliance.

    Material Thickness (Board Caliper)

    • The thickness of the packaging material (e.g., corrugated board, rigid stock, cardstock).
    • Impacts both the internal usable space and external dimensions.

    Flap Measurements

    • For boxes with flaps (e.g., mailer or shipping boxes), measure:
    • Inner flaps: Ensure they meet in the middle without overlapping too much.
    • Outer flaps: Allow proper sealing without gaps.

    Tolerances

    • Account for manufacturing tolerances (usually ±1/16" or ±2mm depending on material).
    • Ensure the product fits without being too tight or loose.

    Volume Capacity

    • Calculate internal cubic capacity (L × W × H).
    • Helps in determining how much space the product will occupy and shipping efficiency.

    Product Orientation

    • Decide how the product sits inside the box and measure accordingly.
    • Orientation affects whether length or width is the primary dimension.

    Die-Cut Openings or Windows

    • Measure exact placement, height, and width for any cutouts.
    • Ensure structural integrity when adding windows.

    Printing Bleed & Safe Zones

    • Include measurements for:
    • Bleed area: Extra space beyond the cut line for printing.
    • Safe zone: Inner area where critical text or logos should be placed.

    Closure Type & Locking Tabs

    • Measure slots, tabs, or locks for boxes with custom closures.
    • Precision is required to avoid misalignment during assembly.

    Packaging Style

    • Folds, creases, and scores must be measured for accurate dieline creation.
    • Different styles (e.g., RSC, tuck-end, mailer, sleeve) require specific panel measurements.

Delivering Premium Packaging. Materials Tailored for Your Brand and Product.

    Foil Stamping

Add a premium metallic finish to your packaging with foil stamping. It enhances brand visibility and gives boxes a luxury appearance.

    Spot UV

Spot UV adds glossy highlights to selected areas of your packaging design. It creates contrast and improves the overall visual appeal.

    Gloss

Gloss finishing provides a smooth and shiny surface that makes packaging colors look more vibrant and professional.

    Holographic Foiling

Holographic foiling creates a reflective rainbow effect that changes under light. It gives packaging a modern and eye catching look.

    Embossing

Embossing raises selected design elements above the surface of the packaging. It adds texture and creates a premium feel.

    Debossing

Debossing presses graphics into the packaging surface for a clean and elegant appearance. It adds depth and sophistication.

    Matte

Matte finishing gives packaging a smooth non shiny surface. It reduces fingerprints and provides a modern premium look.

    Soft Touch Lamination

Soft touch lamination adds a velvety smooth texture to your packaging. It also protects printed surfaces from scratches and wear.
