Custom Food Boat Packaging for Better Food Presentation
A Food Boat is more than a simple serving tray. It is the first thing customers see before they enjoy your food, which makes it a powerful part of your brand experience. At Custom Boxes Lab, we create custom food boat packaging for restaurants, food trucks, concession stands, bakeries, cafés, catering businesses, fairs, festivals, and takeaway food brands that want serving packaging to look clean, practical, and professional.
Our custom Food Boat packaging is built to hold food neatly while making your brand look more organized and retail-ready. Whether you serve loaded fries, tacos, hot dogs, chicken tenders, nachos, cookies, pastries, sliders, sandwiches, or sample portions, we help you choose the right size, material, coating, and print style for your product.
Designed for Food Brands That Sell Fast
Fast food service needs packaging that works quickly without looking cheap. Our food boats are easy to fill, easy to carry, and easy for customers to eat from. Their open-top structure makes them ideal for dine-in counters, takeaway windows, outdoor events, and casual food service where presentation matters.
With custom printing, your Food Boat can carry your logo, brand colors, tagline, QR code, social handle, or promotional message. This turns every order into a small brand impression, especially when customers share food photos online or carry your packaging around busy locations.
- Perfect for food trucks, cafés, bakeries, and restaurants
- Custom sizes for snacks, meals, desserts, and sides
- Kraft, cardboard, and paperboard material options
- Grease-resistant coating options available
- Logo printing, full-color artwork, and branded designs
- Bulk and wholesale packaging support
Material Options That Support Fresh Serving
Custom Boxes Lab offers food boat packaging in durable and presentable materials according to your food type and serving style. Kraft paper food boats are a strong choice for brands that want a natural, eco-conscious look. White paperboard food boats give a clean and modern appearance for printed designs, while cardboard food boats provide extra support for heavier snacks and loaded servings.
For oily, saucy, or warm food items, coating options can help reduce grease marks and improve handling. This keeps the packaging cleaner during service and gives customers a better eating experience. Our team can guide you toward the right material thickness and structure based on portion size, food weight, and usage environment.
Custom Printing That Builds Brand Value
Plain food trays serve food, but printed food boats sell your brand. We help you create packaging that matches your restaurant theme, menu style, and customer expectations. From minimal logo printing to bold all-over artwork, your Food Boat can be customized to feel premium, fun, rustic, modern, or event-ready.
You can choose from different printing and finishing options to create the right commercial look. Add your logo on the side panels, place a short message inside the tray, or use seasonal graphics for events and promotions. Every detail helps your food look more memorable and professional.

When measuring a custom box, there are a few technical specifications that must be considered to ensure proper design, manufacturing, and fit for the product. Here are the major technical things to measure a custom box:
Inside Dimensions (Critical for Product Fit)
- Length (L): The longest side of the box measured inside from one corner to the opposite corner.
- Width (W): The shorter side of the box measured inside perpendicular to the length.
- Depth/Height (D or H): Measured inside from the bottom to the top opening of the box. Always specify that dimensions are given in Length × Width × Height.
Outside Dimensions (Important for Shipping & Storage)
- Measure the outer surfaces of the box including material thickness.
- Outside measurements are used for pallet stacking, warehouse spacing, and shipping compliance.
Material Thickness (Board Caliper)
- The thickness of the packaging material (e.g., corrugated board, rigid stock, cardstock).
- Impacts both the internal usable space and external dimensions.
Flap Measurements
- For boxes with flaps (e.g., mailer or shipping boxes), measure:
- Inner flaps: Ensure they meet in the middle without overlapping too much.
- Outer flaps: Allow proper sealing without gaps.
Tolerances
- Account for manufacturing tolerances (usually ±1/16" or ±2mm depending on material).
- Ensure the product fits without being too tight or loose.
Volume Capacity
- Calculate internal cubic capacity (L × W × H).
- Helps in determining how much space the product will occupy and shipping efficiency.
Product Orientation
- Decide how the product sits inside the box and measure accordingly.
- Orientation affects whether length or width is the primary dimension.
Die-Cut Openings or Windows
- Measure exact placement, height, and width for any cutouts.
- Ensure structural integrity when adding windows.
Printing Bleed & Safe Zones
- Include measurements for:
- Bleed area: Extra space beyond the cut line for printing.
- Safe zone: Inner area where critical text or logos should be placed.
Closure Type & Locking Tabs
- Measure slots, tabs, or locks for boxes with custom closures.
- Precision is required to avoid misalignment during assembly.
Packaging Style
- Folds, creases, and scores must be measured for accurate dieline creation.
- Different styles (e.g., RSC, tuck-end, mailer, sleeve) require specific panel measurements.
