Custom Cardboard Sleeves for Smarter Product Presentation
Custom Cardboard Sleeves are a practical way to upgrade your packaging while keeping it simple, stylish, and cost-effective. Instead of changing the entire box, you can slide a branded sleeve over your product packaging and create a premium look within seconds. At Custom Boxes Lab, we design cardboard sleeve packaging that helps your products look more polished, more memorable, and more ready for retail display.
Our custom printed cardboard sleeves are made for brands that want packaging with strong shelf impact, clear branding, and flexible design options. Whether you sell cosmetics, bakery items, candles, soaps, apparel, electronics, gift boxes, or subscription products, we help you create sleeves that support your product style and brand message.
Designed to Make Your Brand Stand Out
A plain box can protect your product, but a printed sleeve can sell it. With your logo, colors, product details, patterns, and promotional message printed on the sleeve, your packaging becomes more attractive without feeling overdone. These sleeves are ideal for seasonal launches, product bundles, limited editions, retail displays, and ecommerce packaging.
We focus on clean layouts, accurate sizing, and professional finishing so your sleeve fits smoothly around the box, tray, jar, container, or product set. A well-fitted sleeve improves the unboxing experience and gives customers a better first impression of your brand.
Custom Options for Every Product Need
Custom Boxes Lab gives you full control over the structure, design, and finish of your cardboard sleeve packaging. You can keep the sleeve minimal for a natural look or choose premium printing for a bold retail appearance.
- Custom sizes for boxes, trays, jars, packs, and bundles
- Cardboard, kraft, paperboard, and eco-conscious stock options
- Full-color printing, logo printing, patterns, and product details
- Matte, gloss, soft-touch, foil stamping, embossing, and spot UV options
- Retail, food, cosmetic, apparel, gift, and subscription packaging use
Affordable Packaging with a Premium Feel
One of the biggest benefits of cardboard sleeves is their ability to refresh packaging without increasing cost too much. Brands can use the same base box and change the sleeve design for new products, events, flavors, sizes, or promotions. This makes custom cardboard sleeves a smart choice for growing businesses, private-label brands, and retailers that need flexible packaging for different product lines.
They are also lightweight, easy to store, and simple to apply. This helps save space during packing while still giving your product a finished, professional appearance. For wholesale orders, sleeves are especially useful because they combine branding, product information, and presentation in one compact packaging piece.

When measuring a custom box, there are a few technical specifications that must be considered to ensure proper design, manufacturing, and fit for the product. Here are the major technical things to measure a custom box:
Inside Dimensions (Critical for Product Fit)
- Length (L): The longest side of the box measured inside from one corner to the opposite corner.
- Width (W): The shorter side of the box measured inside perpendicular to the length.
- Depth/Height (D or H): Measured inside from the bottom to the top opening of the box. Always specify that dimensions are given in Length × Width × Height.
Outside Dimensions (Important for Shipping & Storage)
- Measure the outer surfaces of the box including material thickness.
- Outside measurements are used for pallet stacking, warehouse spacing, and shipping compliance.
Material Thickness (Board Caliper)
- The thickness of the packaging material (e.g., corrugated board, rigid stock, cardstock).
- Impacts both the internal usable space and external dimensions.
Flap Measurements
- For boxes with flaps (e.g., mailer or shipping boxes), measure:
- Inner flaps: Ensure they meet in the middle without overlapping too much.
- Outer flaps: Allow proper sealing without gaps.
Tolerances
- Account for manufacturing tolerances (usually ±1/16" or ±2mm depending on material).
- Ensure the product fits without being too tight or loose.
Volume Capacity
- Calculate internal cubic capacity (L × W × H).
- Helps in determining how much space the product will occupy and shipping efficiency.
Product Orientation
- Decide how the product sits inside the box and measure accordingly.
- Orientation affects whether length or width is the primary dimension.
Die-Cut Openings or Windows
- Measure exact placement, height, and width for any cutouts.
- Ensure structural integrity when adding windows.
Printing Bleed & Safe Zones
- Include measurements for:
- Bleed area: Extra space beyond the cut line for printing.
- Safe zone: Inner area where critical text or logos should be placed.
Closure Type & Locking Tabs
- Measure slots, tabs, or locks for boxes with custom closures.
- Precision is required to avoid misalignment during assembly.
Packaging Style
- Folds, creases, and scores must be measured for accurate dieline creation.
- Different styles (e.g., RSC, tuck-end, mailer, sleeve) require specific panel measurements.
